KABUL, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's counter-narcotics police have rounded up 14 individuals over the past 24 hours on charges of involvement in drug smuggling and selling, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement on Saturday.
The alleged drug smugglers have been arrested from Parwan, Takhar, Kunduz, Paktia, Laghman, Kapisa and Daykundi provinces, said the statement posted on the ministry's X account.
Police also recovered about 100 kg of various illegal drugs, including 67 kg of opium poppy and 7 kg of hashish, from the possession of the arrested individuals, the statement added. ■
