RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Kevin Serna and Matheus Martinelli scored either side of halftime as Fluminense reached the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals on Tuesday with a 2-0 home win over America de Cali.
After a 2-1 away victory in last week's first leg, Fluminense extended its overall lead through Serna before Martinelli added another goal just before the hour.
The Brazilian side cruised thereafter at Maracana stadium to seal a 4-1 aggregate triumph.
In Buenos Aires, Once Caldas advanced by virtue of a 3-1 away win over Huracan, a result that gave the Colombian side a 4-1 win on aggregate.
Huracan finished the game with nine men after Juan Bisanz and Matko Miljevic were sent off.
In Tuesday's only other fixture, Independiente del Valle eliminated Mushuc Runa 4-2 on penalties in their all-Ecuadorian round of 16 duel. ■
