TUNIS, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia welcomed 4.3 million tourists in the first half of 2025, up 11 percent compared to the same period last year, private radio station Mosaique FM reported Tuesday.
Meanwhile, tourism revenues topped 3 billion dinars (about 1 billion U.S. dollars) in the same period, up over 8 percent, it reported.
"Tourism is now among the top sectors contributing to the inflow of foreign currency into the national economy," the radio station quoted Director General of the Tunisian National Tourism Office Mohamed Mehdi Haloui as saying, who deemed the 2025 tourism season as "very positive" so far.
Tunisia's Tourism Ministry projected that the country is expected to receive more than 11 million tourists by the end of this year. ■
